District Updates Event Schedules Upon New State Coronavirus Recommendations
As our state and national authorities works to limit the spread of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), Superintendent Tyler and our district’s administrative team have been working diligently to gather the most up-to-date information as it relates to the operation of our district.

Governor DeWine, along with the director of the Ohio Department of Health, updated our state with information and provided recommendations on how we can help limit the impact and spread of COVID-19.

One of their recommendations was to limit or remove large gatherings of people in indoor spaces like sporting events and other group functions. They also advised against airline travel as well.

As a Pre-K-12 school district, they said that our students are not in the “at-risk” group of individuals at this time, which is why they are allowing us to continue to conduct a normal daily school schedule. However, their recommendations are going to have an impact on upcoming evening activities and student group travel. These modifications will allow our custodial teams the opportunity for uninterrupted cleaning each evening because they will not have to take time to clean up after special events.

After careful consideration of all suggested recommendations, and with the health and safety of our students in our forethought, our district has made the decision to cancel, postpone, or modify the following events scheduled for the coming weeks in order to limit the risk of spreading COVID-19 in our district. Also, keep in mind, several of these events have been canceled by the organizers.

Here is a list of district events that have been impacted as of Wednesday, March 11, 2020.

We, like you, want the impact of COVID-19 to be minimal, and we will continue to evaluate every district event as we receive new information from state leadership and medical experts. This is a fluid situation and we appreciate your flexibility and understanding as we work to make decisions in the best interests of our students and community as a whole.
