Hamilton Local School District, in conjunction with the Village of Obetz Police Department, has successfully completed the first round of required School safety drills for the 2016-17 school year. School Safety Drills are a subcategory within the general drills or rapid dismissals category that specifically address evacuation when a sudden emergency is caused by an act of violence – such as an act of terrorism or a person possessing a deadly weapon or dangerous ordnance.

Therefore, the drills were conducted and students were instructed in how to proceed regarding a general emergency, and, in addition, they were instructed in how to proceed if the emergency is specifically in response to an act of violence. The students, teachers, and administrators conducted the drill successfully in each school building.
